ABOUT

Operation Ehime was created for Magical Girl Game Jam #11 (2025), and the theme of “Ehime” was chosen for this game.

The game has been updated since it was first uploaded and is now:

  • Complete (1 CG)
  • Compatible with devices with smaller screens
(will work for phones, but it is still best to use tablets instead)
  • More player-friendly, with added functionalities for game saving
    (deleting and renaming saves)
  • Free of identified bugs

To view the first version of the game (incomplete version) as it was when first published to meet the jam deadline, please download the DEMO file.

🌷 Thank you for checking out the game! I hope you will enjoy it! 🌷

STORY

The Earth is facing imminent danger from the waves of interstellar irregularities which are predicted to arrive in our solar system. According to highly classified documents archived by the secretive agency that you work for, there is a mysterious and elusive being who can save it from destruction. She is a magical girl, a mahou shoujo, known as the “Ehime”, or beloved princess, venerated throughout history for her abilities to keep the world safe.

Can you help assess and awaken the abilities of the candidate assigned to you, the last of the many in the list, who has been identified as the possible incarnation of the current Ehime?

CREDIT

The game is developed by Marie @ Marie Marie Studio, inspired by a personal beloved mahou shoujo series, Sailor Moon.

Publicly available resources used in the game include some background art, music and sound effects.

Well well, since the game is complete now, I just had to give it a try!

I really liked this one, I think you pulled the overall concept and idea of the jam very well! As always, you managed the life-concepts and depths of the characters (well, mostly Mina in this one! Althought Yuuta did give a few glimpses of the way he is too, clearly a workaholic lol) very well! It is quite interesting to see Mina's one-in-a-hundred-years potential be prevented to shine by life's situations. And it is also very lovely to see it shine when the time came.

I loved what you did with the UI! Specially the loading screen, I don't think I've seen many online ren'py versions that have a customized loading screen! Same with the little animations  and sound effects, they gave a very dynamic touch to it!

As for the characters, as I said above, I just love both of them. It really felt like the first chapter of an anime lol

Once again, great work Marie! I really enjoyed this one and it's message of hope, and certainly feel like you could make it a series!

Thank you so much for checking out the game Mat, it is always so nice to hear from you. And thank you for your kind and encouraging comment as always! ☺️🌷💖 I am so happy that you gave it a try and that you are happy with it. I did do a little more studying on Ren'Py and experimented with a few new functions, and I am very glad they turned out fine. 😄 The customized loading screen is something new, but I might change since I did hastily create it a while ago when I updated Memories of Marin. Haha, I am happy to hear that it gave the impression of an anime, because this was the style I was going for! Thank you once again, and I do hope to create a sequel for it, but like I have said in another comment, it might be a little more mature because I will be exploring the dynamics of the MC's relationship with Mina and how she adjusts to her new identity!

Haha, it already sounds great to me! Hope to see it someday, and again, great work!!!

I have played through the COMPLETE version! Congrats for finishing the game, and the new main menu looks amazing! I like the ending slides. I wish we have more time to spend with Mina and see her develop before Ehime takes over, or maybe see how she copes or deals with her Ehime persona, but it’s still a good enough time.

Thanks for completing the game! 😊 I am happy you like the new look of the main menu!! I actually was thinking about extending this story just a few days ago, but in another game, since I want to explore more of the MC’s relationship with Mina. This game for the jam addresses the question of “What makes a magical girl?” instead, and also the POV of an unwitting mahou shoujo support boyfriend. I tried to put in elements of what the typical shoujo manga boyfriend has to go through in the story, though I think the MC is probably not as accommodating or friendly as usual shoujo manga boyfriends. In the other story I will expand more on Mina dealing with her newfound identity, and the MC’s relationship with Mina. It might contain more mature elements and I might use a different style for that VN just to see how it will turn out.

Interesting idea. I suppose this being a jam game also limits your room to expand it, and getting it done is the utmost priority.

I would be willing to play more if you do another game. I like the MC, actually, the way he is trying to do his job proper and getting concerned when he is slowly swept away. At first I thought we would get to see other cases he is assigned to (maybe that is an element you could also revisit in the future). But hey, don’t let my ramblings get to you. There’s plenty enough contents in here for a month of jam, and I’m mostly running my mouth here.

Thanks for letting me know that you actually like the MC!! I was worried he was a bit too cold and his inner voice too critical. This is definitely something I've been trying to work on in my writing (most of it has been for dating sims), to develop relationships organically. I do love to hear your suggestions on what I could add to the story when I work on it again, and I think it is very helpful to know what you like and would like to see more off! I do find when I read other people's stories that action really adds excitement to the plot, so I will definitely add this element to any future story for this universe. Thank you once again for your feedback! 🫶🏻☺️🌷
